|
Sept. 12th 2008. Sam Kressin was awarded a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt from Chris Haueter. Sam first learned about Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in 1995. He began seriously training in Hawaii in 1998 with Joao Morias. Shortly after Joao left the United States in 2003 to return to Brazil Sam returned to the mainland and began training with Chris who has been his coach ever since.
When asked about receiving his Black Belt Sam said;
“I feel honored to have my coach recognize me as a Black Belt. It has
been close to eleven years of dedicated training and a lot of hard
work. Through the process I have had days where I felt victorious and
days where I felt completely heart broken. It has taken a great deal of
sacrifice, a lot of perseverance, patients and effort and it has been a
lot of fun all at the same time. Overall it has been an incredible
experience.”
“I want to thank everyone who has taken time to train with me over the
years each of you have been a part of this in someway and I am grateful
for that. It truly is the relationships and connections I've made with
people through this over the years that I value the most. I have to
thank my wife who has shown nothing more than full support for my
involvement with Jiu-Jitsu.”
